I’ve always loved Garlic Mushrooms and Onions. It’s very meaty and tasty; especially the way I do it. The best part is, there are several different ways to use this recipe; as a side dish or over steak. But I take it a step further and turn it into a Mushroom and Swiss over Garlic bread. This idea of mine came from two other recipes I’ve listed below; my Stuffed Mushrooms and my French Onion Soup.

  1. Thanks for this. I'm going to give this a whirl with your ingredients with a combination of Gordon Ramsay's take. Shallots instead of Onion, add a little white wine vinegar (the cheap generic kind) and just a little lightly chopped tarragon. Let it sit for a couple of hours, then oven broil it with cheese like you've done. Love the beef broth addition. I'm about to get started on it right now. Thanks again! Bon Apetit!

  2. Yum. If you use chicken broth, chopped fresh tarragon instead of parsley is also great. Throw some whole garlic cloves into the skillet and spread the garlic bread with the soft-cooked ones for an extra layer of mild flavor.
