INGREDIENTS

Set 1

3 c. all-purpose flour

ΒΌ tsp. + 1/8 tsp. baking powder

ΒΎ tsp. salt

Set 2

4 tbsp. butter flavored Crisco

2 tbsp. solidified bacon grease, or lard, or white Crisco

Set 3

2 c. boiling water

You will love this recipe because the tortillas are not only delicious and soft, but they are even soft the day after. Yes, bacon fat, butter-flavored Crisco and boiling water make all the difference in this wonderful recipe.

  2. I have never seen such funny looking tortillas in my life. I now don't feel so bad about mine:) I love the idea of adding the bacon grease; can't wait to try it. Bacon grease is the secret to all my red pasta sauces – even marinara. People used to beg for my pastas when I cooked. I never gave my secrets away, but bacon grease was one of the main ones.

  6. My photo is of a sada roti or a bake with a layer of peanut butter , then three types of raisins then a dusting of cinnamon it Is very delicious and healthy I think. I learnt from my Mom how to make the bake .Note the white flour had the healthy bran part removed so it won't spoil too fast. That's why I put bran in my flour based foods. The white flour can cause diabetes too so watch out !!!

  8. If you think those are better than Mexican tortillas, it because you have only tried store bought. Its like saying pizza hut is real Italian food. Don't judge real Mexican food with the Taco Bell menu.
