Olive oil
4 whole large shrimps or prawns
1 pound (450 grams) calamari pieces
10 large shrimps (cleaned)
2 medium-sized tomatoes
1/2 medium-sized onion (finely chopped)
2 garlic cloves (finely chopped)
1 teaspoon sweet paprika
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups (400 grams) short grain rice (unwashed)
5 1/2 cups (1.3 liters) Fish stock
Large pinch of saffron
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
10 clams or mussels

  1. Not to be on your case BUT the seafood looks over cooked. I have always seen, and when I cooked paella, added the seafood at the end  – last 5-10 minutes to ensure the seafood is not overcooked. Still, enjoyed the vid.

  2. What was the original ingredient your friend intended to use, but couldn't find it, and instead, ended up using Turmeric?  I couldn't understand what he said…. it sounded like 'colorant'….?
