Manchurians are Indian-Chinese fusion recipes that are popular fast food items in India. Here I share my recipe for Mushroom Manchurian, which can be served as starters or side-dish with main-course.
White Button Mushrooms – 1 box, (approx. 220 g);
Flour mixture – 1.5 Tbsp each of corn flour(corn starch) and all-purpose flour (maida), 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp black pepper powder, 1 tsp dry garlic powder (optional);
Oil for deep frying;
For the Sauce – 1 cup finely chopped onions, 2 tbsp finely chopped garlic; 1 tbsp finely chopped ginger; 1 tbsp finely chopped green chillies, 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper/capsicum;
Corn flour slurry – 1 tbsp corn flour, 3 tbsp tomato ketchup, 3 tbsp red chilli sauce; 2 tbsp soya sauce, 1 cup water;
Salt to taste;
Sugar – 1 tbsp;
For garnishing – coriander leaves/cilantro, green spring onions, sesame seeds.
